Saving is the new spending

With the launch of the USaver product, UBank wanted to use Facebook to communicate the ‘Saving is the New Spending’ campaign and promote saving tips to the online community.

An application was required that could be used within Facebook to allow fans to read, contribute and vote on their favourite tips.

Submit and vote on savings tips

A Facebook page was developed to be integrated into UBank’s existing Facebook presence to allow users to submit their own saving tips, and vote on the tips other users submitted.

To provide easy access to the page from personal pages of fans a Savings Tip widget was created in Flash.

Hundreds of tips received

The Savings is the New Spending campaign message was heard by UBank’s Facebook fans and generated hundreds of tips. UBank continues to use social media channels as a core part of their marketing strategy.
